The ROPS Engineering design team is experienced in all aspects of CAD design and can produce ROPS and FOPS to suit any kind of self-propelled machinery. The design team utilises the extensive manufacturing experience in our workshop, the tooling and machinery available and our combined knowledge of ROPS and FOPS when designing protective canopies.
The team currently utilises CAD Solidworks 3D and Fastcam for the most accurate of designs.
Compliance to the required standards is always a priority when designing a high-quality protective structure, but the aesthetics of the machinery/vehicle must also be taken into account. This is where our design team excels. Once the design of the structure is completed, a detailed set of manufacturing drawings is produced and a prototype fabricated, checked with the appropriate engineer and made ready for testing in accordance with the specific ISO, SAE or AS standards.
The team uses AutoCAD 3D modelling, which means detailed measurements and tolerances eliminate unnecessary down time, producing the finest and safest product before construction begins.
At ROPS Engineering, no task is too hard for us as we can cater for almost every client need to get the vehicle to the exact specifications. This includes extras from fire extinguishers and additional lights to relocation of exhausts and air cleaners to accommodate the ROPS/FOPS.

ROPS Engineering does not just fabricate high-quality ROPS and FOPS structures, but can also fabricate and certify material-handling equipment and other products requiring an engineer-certified SWL rating.
All blasting and painting is completed in-house to manage better the complete process and ensure a quick delivery schedule.
In the past, the company has had to relocate bogie drives, isolate batteries, add on wheel chocks and holders, toolboxes, hitches, container locks, extra fuel tanks and even LED lighting.
“We have the facilities to press and bend and roll; we have C & C plasma cutting facilities; we have hydraulic hose crimping and hose manufacturing facilities and we can fabricate whatever you want,” Ben Dickinson says.
